ABC news anchor Charles Gibson became the 15th winner of the Fred
Friendly First Amendment Award presented by Quinnipiac University
last week. The award was handed out Tuesday during a luncheon at The
Metropolitan Club in New York. Named after the legendary former CBS
News president, the award acknowledges one of the most basic
constitutional rights and honors those who have shown courage and
forthrightness in preserving that right, noted QU officials.
