CORINTH - When Tate's Strawberry Farm officially opens Friday for
customers to pick strawberries at $2 per quart, its owner is
expecting about 500 cars from all across Maine in the first two
hours.
"I love the fact that a lot of people appreciate that we got some
really good strawberries," Albert Tate said Wednesday.
Tate said he expects up to a three-week pick-your-own season this
year, and his farm will be open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a
week. Tate said that if people come to the farm today to pick
strawberries, he won't turn them away.
There are five varieties to choose from - Annapolis, Brunswick,
Honeyeye, Mira and Cabot - and Tate said the strawberries are
