A CHALLENGING and unconventional documentary that took its current form because of fi rst minister Alex Salmond, features 11 directors including a Turner Prize winner, an Oscar-winning actress and one of the country's best-known writers, and is not even fi nished yet, is becoming one of the hottest tickets at this year's Edinburgh International Film Festival.

The New Ten Commandments comprises 10 short documentaries united by a single theme - human rights in Scotland - and despite finishing touches still being applied in a studio in Glasgow, it has already sold out its festival screenings.
