Article: 6:54 p.m.: Hundreds in Inland Valley seek water to help beat the heat; temperatures expected to drop into the 90s this week

RANCHO CUCAMONGA - When the temperatures are in the low 100s, there's not much in the way of options for escaping the heat.

But several brave Inland Valley residents ventured out today in an effort to escape oven-like houses and apartments and cool off without running up extravagant energy bills.

Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park was filled to capacity by 3:45 p.m. today. Masses of people crowded around any area with water. This meant the pool, the lake with the ducks and paddle boats and most stimulating of all, the fountain area.

Those in the fountain area seemed to have the right idea. Wear an old T-shirt, some shorts, maybe some flip flops, (or not) and get soaking wet.
