Much research into new phone system

In February the Board of Wayne County commissioners unanimously voted in favor of replacing a 20-year-old phone system with a new system that will result in an estimated savings of more than $1.2 million during the next 10 years.

The decision to replace the phone system was based on evaluating potential cost savings realized from taking advantage of new technology.

The commissioners sponsored vendor interviews and demonstrations. All county officials were invited to be part of the selection process. When purchasing a major asset of this size our board must follow the guidelines of the Ohio Revised Code.
