McCormick profit up 29%
Spice maker McCormick & Co. Inc., of Sparks, said second-quarter

and industrial divisions. Net income met analysts' expectations,
rising to $53.3 million, or 41 cents per diluted share, from $42.4
million, or 31 cents per share, in the prior-year quarter. Excluding
restructuring charges and credits, which included a gain on the sale
of a manufacturing facility, the company said it earned 39 cents per
share. Revenue rose 11 percent during the quarter to $764.1 million
from $687.2 million in the second quarter of 2007. Analysts had
predicted revenue of $738.6 million.
