Geraldine Scott and Selwyn Shelton won one of the closest Edgar
Lee Open Mixed Greensome Trophy competitions for years at Grimsby.
Only a half point separated the top three pairings in the keenly-
fought contest.
The winners scored 69 points to take the title from second-
placed Debbie Davidson and Barry Darsley with 69.5 points, both
pairs from the Grimsby club.
Third place, on countback, went to the pairing of H Willows and L
Fielding of Lincoln.
The lowest gross scores went to Rita Broughton and Terry Hardy of
Grimsby with 81.
The course was in magnificent condition and the players responded
superbly in the sun.
Some 38 pairs attended the open event from Lincoln, Hull, Ashby,
Crayford, ...
