PUBLIC transport giant Arriva said its revenue would rise by more
than 50 per cent over the half-year as it issued a bullish update to
investors.
The bus and train operator, which employs 1,100 people in
Yorkshire, described its performance as "robust" as it made a pre-
close trading statement.
Sunderland-based Arriva also said it had fixed fuel prices at
about 28 pence per litre for this year and 39p per litre for three-
quarters of next year's expected requirement.
It said it anticipated a significant growth in its earnings over
the half and full year as its UK bus division grew strongly.
Arriva's revenue for the six months to the end of June 2007 was
