Article: Arriva moving into top gear

PUBLIC transport giant Arriva said its revenue would rise by more than 50 per cent over the half-year as it issued a bullish update to investors.

The bus and train operator, which employs 1,100 people in Yorkshire, described its performance as "robust" as it made a pre- close trading statement.

Sunderland-based Arriva also said it had fixed fuel prices at about 28 pence per litre for this year and 39p per litre for three- quarters of next year's expected requirement.
