Article: Mayor marks official opening for legal advice centre

The Mayor of Derby has officially opened a new legal advice centre in Derby.

Councillor Barbara Jackson joined officials from the Legal Services Commission at the opening on Thursday.

Advisers at the centre have already helped more than 2,000 people in the city tackle legal problems since it was launched on April 1.

It is estimated that there are more than 100,000 people each year who need legal advice in Derby.

The Community Legal Advice Centre, in Green Lane, provides free and impartial advice on a range of common legal problems.
