Village green application withdrawn by parish council

A PARISH council has withdrawn its bid to register an area of
land as village green.
Rountons Parish Council decided not to go ahead after it
discovered that a report by a North Yorkshire County Council officer
urged the county's committee for Hambleton to reject the bid.
The parish council wanted to register a piece of land between
White House Farm and Chestnut House, in West Rounton, near
Northallerton, under section 15 (2) of the Commons Act 2006.
It said the land adjoins the northern boundary of the existing
green and has been used by generations of villagers.
