New restaurant in Germantown offers South American flavor

GERMANTOWN -- A Germantown chiropractor has reached into his -- and the town's -- past to open a South American-style steakhouse just down the street from his clinic.

Rudy's Churrascaria has opened at 42 N. Main St. in the former Germantown Opera House, which was built in 1872.

The restaurant serves rotisserie-cooked meats in the Brazilian and Argentinian steakhouse tradition, said Dr. Rudy Mejia, who owns the restaurant along with his wife, Dr. Colette Mejia, and his brother and sister-in-law, German and Patsy Mejia.

Rudy's Churrascaria is open from 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
