SunVan Adding 31 Vehicles ; Units May Expand Service up to 15%

Beatriz McKinney rides SunVan almost every day of the week, to get to work and sometimes for errands or appointments.

So she was among those happy to hear Wednesday that the city's Transit Department is adding 31 new vans to its paratransit fleet, which serves people with disabilities who can't use fixed-route buses.

"To me, it's excellent transportation," McKinney said. "It really helps, because we don't have to bother our kids, our families. That lets us feel more independent, having this ride."
