Residents' associations are claiming victory after the licences
of two bars in the city centre went up for discussion.
The Porter and the Adventure Cafe both applied to Bath and North
East Somerset Council to change the rules under which they have to
operate.
Both are in an area named by police as "a hotspot for crime and
disorder" and the applications prompted complaints from locals
concerned about noise and anti-social behaviour.
At the moment, the Porter at Miles Buildings has to serve food
all the time that it is open, and the conditions of the licence say
people are not allowed to take drinks into the bar's outside area.
