Derbyshire police vow on human trafficking

Police have vowed to continue targeting human trafficking gangs following the success of an operation in Derbyshire.

Operation Pentameter Two was a national campaign, aimed at disrupting the trafficking of people into the country to work in the sex trade.

In Derbyshire, 12 victims were rescued and nine suspects arrested during the operation, which ran for six months from October last year. Eight premises were raided and closed, many of which were operating as brothels or massage parlours.
