Shop helps brides find gowns after company goes into liquidation

A Bath shop has come to the rescue of worried brides left without dresses.

Clifton Brides, in St James's Parade, has had dozens of calls from women after the sudden closure of a Bradford on Avon bridal shop.

Brides who had ordered and paid for wedding dresses from Arvella Bridal were thrown into uncertainty when the shop shut last week.

Staff at Clifton Brides are now working round the clock to come up with replacement dresses so the women's big days are not ruined.

The Bath shop's owner Brenda Theobald said: "The whole situation is so awful for these women because they have been picturing themselves in their perfect dress and will now have to find a replacement at the last minute."
