ECB chairman Clarke in firing line for beechen

Beechen Cliff Pupils representing Beechen Cliff's 1st XI took on one faced one of the most powerful men in world cricket - ECB chairman Giles Clarke - when they played their annual match against the 40 Club at Lansdown Cricket Club.

Clarke was at the match at Combe Park to see the ECB's Chance to Shine project - his scheme aimed at raising standards and participation in cricket in state schools - in action.

Beechen Cliff enjoys good links with local cricket clubs, notably Chance to Shine partners Bath Cricket Club.
