Beechen Cliff Pupils representing Beechen Cliff's 1st XI took on
one faced one of the most powerful men in world cricket - ECB
chairman Giles Clarke - when they played their annual match against
the 40 Club at Lansdown Cricket Club.
Clarke was at the match at Combe Park to see the ECB's Chance to
Shine project - his scheme aimed at raising standards and
participation in cricket in state schools - in action.
Beechen Cliff enjoys good links with local cricket clubs, notably
Chance to Shine partners Bath Cricket Club.
Coaches from Bath CC visit the school to provide tuition which
ensures every pupil in Year 7 works with ECB-qualified coaches and
the school's 1st XI benefits from support from ...
