S ourcing land for mixed use developments is a key element for
the sustained development of West Devon's economy this year.
While two major business estates have been completed in the last
year - in Okehampton and Tavistock - the borough is now on the
lookout for commercial land for new projects.
It sees it as the best way to increase investment and economic
growth in what is one of the poorest parts of the South West.
Tim Beavon, head of economic and community development at West
Devon Borough Council, said: "We have seen Tavistock's Pitts Cleave
be fully developed and Okehampton Business Estate being developed in
the last year.
