Jane Rita Kowalski, 86, of Salt Springs, Fla., formerly of Solon, Iowa, and Dubuque, died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Shands Hospital, Gainesville, Fla., after a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 5, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Solon. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Solon. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 4, at Brosh Chapel, Solon, where there will be a vigil service at 7 p.m. Friends also may call after

9 a.m. Saturday at the church.

She was born on Feb. 19, 1922, in Dubuque, daughter of Louis and Lila (McGiness) Lorenz. She married Kenneth F. Kowalski on June 17, 1942, in Dubuque; he preceded her in death.
