HOSPITALS in Yorkshire are treating record numbers of stab
victims as concerns grow over the number of young people injured by
knives.
Stark new figures reveal 575 people suffering stab wounds were
admitted to hospital in the region in 2006/07 - an increase of more
than two thirds from five years ago.
The toll - which included 19 youths aged under 16 and another 58
aged 16 to 18 last year - is revealed days after 16-year-old Ben
Kinsella became the 17th teenager stabbed to death in London this
year.
Yesterday his sister, former EastEnders actress Brooke Kinsella,
appealed for crucial witnesses to come forward and "make a stand to
help the police".
