A Lancaster ballplayer is on the disabled list, but it's not the usual sports injury.

The little girl statue in the Let's Play Ball!" sculpture in Rotary Park, a small patch of ground at the intersection of Harrisburg Pike, North Prince and West James streets, was knocked over by vandals recently.

Motorists entering the city may have wondered what happened to the girl with the braided hair, but police said she was removed for repairs while they search for her assailant.

Located about a block south of Lancaster's Clipper Magazine Stadium, the sculpture depicts two boys using a bat to determine who gets first at-bat for a pickup game, with the girl and a dog nearby.
