Man in court charged with murder after bus-row death

A MAN appeared in court yesterday charged with the murder of Stan Dixon, 60, who died following an alleged row over swearing on a bus.

Gary Robson, 23, of Galloway Road, Peterlee, also faces a charge of assaulting Mr Dixon?s partner, Anne Fisher, 41.

He appeared at Peterlee Magistrates? Court, where he spoke only to confirm his name and address.

The court was told that Mr Dixon, from the Eden Vale Estate, in Horden, near Peterlee, and Ms Fisher, his partner of five years, were travelling home on an Arriva service at 10.15pm on Saturday when they allegedly told off a passenger for swearing.
