On sail at the Frugal Frigate

The year was 1937 and Margret and H.A. Rey were yet to have their books published that later made them a household name.

In that same year Hans Rey "was working in the Brazilian Pavilion at the Paris World's Fair. He was stationed across from a penguin exhibit, and he took great delight in drawing these fanciful creatures and creating characters out of them."

From those drawings, and with a healthy dose of imagination, came a book that few of us have ever heard of, "Whiteblack the Penguin Sees the World." Part of the reason for not knowing this book is that it sat unpublished for more than 60 years.
