You might say Theodore J. "Ted" Gregor's business is picking up.
And he's hoping it continues that way.
Gregor, a Van Voorhis native now living in Carlsbad, Calif., has
received a patent on an enhanced pick-up tool used by crews along
the highways or in parks and recreation areas. The hand-actuated
equipment adds "inventor" to Gregor's long list of accomplishments.
"The company I ran for 10 years was Arcoa Industries," said
Gregor, a 1960 graduate of Monongahela High School. "Our main
product was a tool used to pick up litter. I'm sure everyone has
seen road or parks workers using them. The patent is an improvement
