Without Tesla, Extension Questioned ; Lines Were To Serve Nixed Motors Plant

Initially approved by the A lbuquerque B er na l i l lo County Water Utility Authority Board last August to serve a proposed Tesla Motors plant on the far West Side, the water and sewer lines are still approved to extend to developer SunCal's 4,000-acre industrial site southwest of the Petroglyph National Monument. The development includes plans for commercial, industrial and residential areas.

But with Tesla abandoning its plans to build a plant in New Mexico and no other businesses announced for the industrial area, the possible extension of water utilities could open up development of residential homes without the original ...
