Corridor plan upsets Portland residents

After nearly two years of work, the Portland Planning Bureau this week released its North Interstate Corridor Plan, which proposes zoning changes for the busy North Portland arterial along the MAX light-rail yellow line.

Although Portland City Council won't review the plan until July 16, Portland Planning is already expecting criticism due to the plan's looser standards for height requirements along some portions of the corridor.

The revision would allow a few developments to build 125-foot buildings if the developments underwent additional design review.
