Two fires burn, six injured in crash over holiday weekend

REDLANDS - Two fires threatened several homes in Redlands on Sunday.

The first fire burned about three acres and threatened several structures along East Sunset Drive at Panorama Point Sunday afternoon.

Redlands firefighters were called to the first blaze along the 30000 block of East Sunset Drive at about 12:15 p.m. Sunday.

The fire had already burned about an acre of vegetation in the area overlooking Interstate 10. Four to five homes directly across the street from the brushy area were briefly threatened.

Firefighters had the blaze under control within half an hour and remained on scene for another two hours mopping up hot spots. A total of about three acres were burned.
