The Charleston Daily Mail might have a new owner, but its new
bosses pledge the look of the newspaper and its staff will stay the
same.
"We are excited to add this distinguished newspaper in West
Virginia to our group of publications," said William Dean Singleton,
president and chief executive officer of MediaNews Group and Garden
State Newspapers.
"We always push for more local news," he said. "Local news is
what drives our business. Local is what newspapers do that
television and radio can't do as well."
Thomson Newspapers reached an agreement in principle to sell the
Daily Mail to MediaNews Group's affiliate Garden State Newspapers.
