If it happens, Polsinelli-Shughart deal would vault new firm to top revenue, personnel ranks in state

With two large Kansas City-based law firms considering a merger, how would a new powerhouse affect the legal landscape?

Officials at Polsinelli Shalton Flanigan Suelthaus and Shughart Thomson & Kilroy announced this week the two are exploring a merger. The firms are in early negotiations, and no timetable has been set for when a deal might be finalized.

If the two did merge, the new firm would shoot into Missouri's top ranks for revenue and attorney head count.
