St. Louis-based Bryan Cave opens office in Paris

Bryan Cave has partnered with French attorneys to open its first French office in Paris.

Kathie Claret and Joseph Smallhoover, formally of the New York- based Dechert law firm's Paris office, are the principal attorneys for the new location. About 20 lawyers will be added to the office within the next two years, coming from other local Paris offices, said Fred Bartelsmeyer, partner and European liaison at Bryan Cave.

The firm has submitted an application with the Paris Bar Council in order to operate under its name. Currently, the office is called the Paris Law Practices of Claret and Smallhoover.
