BECKLEY - Keith Berneburg says dressing as "Harry the Hobo"
normally makes people laugh and just have a good time.
But two bank tellers who mistakenly thought Harry was a robber
Wednesday afternoon thought the situation was dead serious.
Around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, an armed robbery in progress was
reported at the City National Bank branch near Crossroads Mall, said
Chief Deputy Steve Tanner of the Raleigh County Sheriff's
Department. Every available unit was sent to the bank, and four
deputies made it there within moments of receiving the call.
That was when deputies found out the call was a huge
misunderstanding, according to Tanner.
