Herefordshire left Truro's Boscawen Park smiling last night after
recording their first Minor Counties Championship win for almost
three years, albeit a 100-over match at a hurriedly switched venue.
The visitors recorded their first win over Cornwall in
championship cricket since their title-winning season in 2002.
Thanks to sterling efforts from the Truro ground staff the game
started on time at 11am, having been switched after two soggy days
at St Austell.
Ironically no sooner had proceedings got underway than drizzle
caused a 13-minute delay. However, on the resumption, the visitors
soon made use of winning the toss as Cornwall battled under grey
skies.
