Article: Global warming not backed up by facts ; Having read Susie Weldon's article, "A greener, cleaner, but not so pleasant land", I am still inclined to regard global warming, carbon dioxide emissions and alternative energy as little more than a jolly wheeze concocted by cynical politicians, greedy energy companies and vociferous environmental groups.

Having read Susie Weldon's article, "A greener, cleaner, but not
so pleasant land", I am still inclined to regard global warming,
carbon dioxide emissions and alternative energy as little more than
a jolly wheeze concocted by cynical politicians, greedy energy
companies and vociferous environmental groups.
As I understand matters, the UK contributes just two per cent of
the total global carbon dioxide emissions. Does anyone seriously
believe that we are going to have much effect on global warming,
whatever we do?
For that matter, does anyone really believe that the world's
governments are serious about reducing our dependence on fossil
fuels? Mr Brown recently went cap in hand to beg the ...
