Devon's match against Dorset at Bournemouth ended up a dull draw.

With 19 overs left to play, and Devon 378 runs ahead, skippers Bob Dawson and Tom Hicks agreed to abandon the game as a draw on the grounds there was not going to be a result.

Rain blighted the first two days of the game to such an extent it was always going to need some understanding between the captains to fashion a worthwhile game from the time left.

A tea-time chat on Tuesday between Devon skipper Dawson and Hicks appeared to have ended with agreement on a scenario both sides could go along with.
