CONCERT Eddie Vedder If Pearl Jam's recent show at Verizon
Center was a mega-rock-awesome blowout, the solo tour by frontman
Vedder aims to be the opposite: It will be one dude, intimate and
introspective, with an acoustic guitar, a mandolin and a harmonica,
playing covers and his work from the Sean Penn film "Into the Wild."
And rather than a gazillion dates, he's playing but a few: a
handful of sold-out shows on the West Coast this spring, a mere 13
on the East Coast this summer. Luckily for Washingtonians, he will
hit the Warner Theatre twice, Aug. 16-17. Tickets go on sale through
