Firm unveils hydrogen solution to cleaner, greener, car travel

IT could revolutionise transport as the clean, green and economical alternative to fossil fuels in transport.

Leading hydrogen technology and fuel cell firm ITM Power has unveiled a home refuelling system and hydrogen-powered car which it believes could be the answer to the traffic pollution and greenhouse gas worries.

The refuelling system allows users to fill their cars from home with a ready supply of hydrogen, reducing trips to the petrol station.

ITM, which has its research labs and factory in Sheffield, said soaring oil prices could make the refuelling system a commercial reality within years.
