Private pilots are no different from motorists these days:
they're looking to move down to typically smaller, more fuel-
efficient airplanes the way some car and truck owners are seeking
smaller vehicles to economize.
The prime purpose of Skylane Airport - a modest public facility
at 2029 Allen Lane on Evansville's Northwest Side - is not to sell
pre-owned planes, but to provide pilots of small aircraft with a
landing strip and hangars.
Some of the nearly 50 pilots who regularly fly in and out of
Skylane's airstrip, however, have planes for sale there most of the
time.
"There's lots of (pre-owned) airplanes that get sold and bought
