DEA imposter faces 23-count indictment: President of First Bank Mortgage charged in separate case

U.S. Attorney Catherine Hanaway announced Thursday afternoon the indictment of a man who posed as a federal law enforcement officer in Gerald, Mo.

Bill Anthony Jakob, 36, was charged in a 23-count indictment alleging that he impersonated law enforcement officers and posed as a contracting officer for the U.S. Corps of Engineers.

Hanaway also said that Mark Turkcan, 55, president of First Bank Mortgage, was charged in an 11-count indictment alleging fraudulent activities that eventually cost First Bank $35 million.

Hanaway made the two announcements in back-to-back news conferences in the U.S. Attorney's Office at the Thomas F. Eagleton U.S. Courthouse.
