Labour leadership at war as Brown and Harman clash over abortion law

GORDON BROWN has clashed bitterly with Harriet Harman over abortion laws in a dispute that has seen relations between Labour's leader and deputy leader reach a new low, The Sunday Telegraph understands.

Amid extraordinary scenes last week, the Prime Minister had to intervene to stop an attempt by the Labour MP Emily Thornberry to extend abortion laws to Northern Ireland, where the practice has never been legal.
