Gibbs wouldn't have dared.
Seven Sprint Cup Series victories already?
For a driver new to his team? For a team new to its manufacturer?
No, that would have been unrealistic to expect.
But not impossible to do.
"Just getting used to everything was going to be weird, but it's
all kind of falling into place," Busch said after pulling off a
masterful pass on Jimmie Johnson to win the LifeLock.com 400 on
Saturday night at Chicagoland Speedway.
"Fortunately this year has been this year. If there's not ever
one like it again, it's definitely something we've got to cherish."
