Who hasn't gone off on vacation, discovered an idyllic spot, and
returned full of wishful dreams of purchasing a fantastic getaway?
Some spontaneously inclined folks even take the plunge while they're
still on vacation, and no small number who act in haste end up
repenting (or at least regretting) at leisure.
Several readers who've long hoped to buy a second home for their
exclusive use - or to rent out some of the time - have written to
inquire whether the current real estate market downturn means it's
