It's a start: Gas prices fall 10 cents in a week

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell for the sixth consecutive day, having dropped nearly 10 cents since hitting a record high, according to figures released today by the Oil Price Information Service.

The average of $4.529 is 9.7 cents less than the record high of $4.626 set on June 21 and 7.6 cents less than last month. However, the average is $1.416 higher than at this time last year.
