Detectives investigating a stabbing said the victim would have
died without the life-saving treatment he received at Hull Royal
Infirmary.
Michal Krzeminski, 26, was rushed to the hospital on December 22
last year after being stabbed in the heart by Damian Liberda.
The knife pierced the left ventricle of his heart, causing
massive internal bleeding, and Mr Krzeminski had to undergo
emergency surgery.
Fortunately, there was a specialist heart surgeon available in
the hospital at the time, and Mr Krzeminski was operated on
immediately.
Liberda was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the attack at
Hull Crown Court yesterday.
