As the A40 roadworks continue to cause chaos for thousands of
commuters, Gloucestershire County Council's cabinet member for the
environment, COUN STAN WADDINGTON, answers some of the criticism.
There's been a lot of rubbish talked about the roadworks on the
A40. The Citizen has kindly let me write a bit to put the record
straight.
These roadworks are being carried out by the Highways Agency, not
the county council. The Highways Agency is run by the Government
and maintains major national roads, including the motorway network,
and, as it happens, this bit of the A40.
