MP urges Parliament to back coroners bill

The Government has been urged to introduce psychological autopsies in the upcoming Coroners Bill following suicides in Bridgend.

Labour's Madeleine Moon, the town's MP, suggested to ministers that the psychological impact of deaths could be investigated further.

Twenty-one young people in or from Bridgend are believed to have killed themselves since the beginning of 2007.

The bill aims to modernise the inquest system and should be debated in the next parliamentary session.
