An nhs dentist left a young woman needing root canal surgery
after a routine check-up - and then tried to cover his tracks by
falsifying her records, a hearing was told.
Seyed Behnejad, who now practises near Falmouth in Cornwall,
suggested that the patient should have expensive veneer treatment
for a tiny stain on one of her front teeth.
He told her the treatment would only involve putting a thin layer
on the surface of one tooth, then proceeded to drill down both her
front teeth until all that remained were "two stumps".
The botched treatment left her with one "dead tooth" needing root
canal surgery, the General Dental Council was told.
