Article: 33 held in Theater District sweep ; Police posed as drug buyers for months

They worked the Theater District, selling crack cocaine to club- goers, nervous tourists looking to score, and local addicts. But in with the mix of potential customers were undercover teams of Boston police officers and state troopers, who for months posed as buyers and gathered information.

Yesterday, Boston Police Commissioner Edward F. Davis announced the arrests of 33 people on drug charges. Suspects ranged in age from 14 to 54 and included a woman from Framingham, a homeless man, and several people recently incarcerated on other charges.

Davis said the arrests will probably affect the level of crime in some neighborhoods, because many of the suspects "sell dangerous
