More than 3,000 new homes will be built in Lincolnshire as part
of the Government's plans to meet the country's long-term housing
needs.
Gainsborough has been named as one of the Government's new growth
points.
It is expected to provide around 3,300 new homes by 2016.
Previously Lincoln, where 9,500 homes are expected to be built by
2016, and Grantham, where 2,750 new homes are expected to be built
in the next eight years, have been awarded growth point status.
