CHICAGO - It's the time of year when teams have to declare their intentions, and the Oakland Athletics are leading the charge for teams jumping off the fence to become sellers. The deal that sent Joe Blanton to Philadelphia on Thursday, nine days after the one in which the A's traded Rich Harden and Chad Gaudin to the Chicago Cubs, suggests there might be a flurry of deals before the nonwaiver trading deadline July 31.
