"The first one would be my freshman summer [at Thornton Fractional South High outside Chicago]. The reason being, that was the first time I ever played a lot of baseball at one point in time -- [there was] the high school spring season, and the high school summer team and [an American] Legion team, and then I was also playing basketball that summer as well.

"So that was that summer where I was like: 'Man, my friends are going to this concert. My friends are going to this amusement park. . . . And I can't go because I've got a game this weekend.' And I started having to decide: 'Okay, which way do I want to go? Was going to Six Flags -- the same Six Flags I've already been to 10 times ...
