Joe Company long ago lost track of how many triathlons he's
participated in. He knows the total is in the three-digit range over
the last eight years, but the 34-year old Columbia resident knew for
sure that, before yesterday, he had never won one.
Company, one of about 170 people competing in the triathlon and
duathlon in the Show-Me State Games at Twin Lakes Recreation Area
yesterday, swam, biked and ran faster than anybody else, as he
finished in 1 hour, 21 minutes, 43 seconds.
"Overall, place hasn't been a huge issue. I get a lot of seconds
and thirds, and that's OK because often I have an OK race and I'm
